Gift from Kids: Edible Snowman Buttons {with Printable}

Each week, forty-eight men and women give of their time. Forty-eight men and women pour out their energies. Forty-eight men and women share some of their talents.

This group of willing-ones dedicate a few hours each week to minister to my children in Sunday School, at Wednesday night Bible clubs, and at a bi-weekly Bible study. They do so voluntarily in hopes of sharing God's love and His Truths with the next generation...asking nothing in return.
With much gratefulness, every year, our family prepares a Christmas gift of thanks for each one of our children's church and club teachers. While our offerings are certainly small in comparison to theirs, these Christmas gifts have been a great way to pass along a much-deserved "Thank You" to the ones who make ETERNAL investments in our children each and every week.

In the past, we have whipped up homemade jar-mixes or yummy treats. But, this year, we chose a simpler path and will be handing out bags of "snowman buttons"....aka Christmas M&Ms.

We have prepared some child-inspired gift tags to attach to our snowman button bags and with the organization of a well-oiled assembly line have made all 48 bags.

To make Snowman Button Bags you will need:

• tags printed on heavy cardstock, cut to size and folded in half (They print 6 per page.)
• clear, plastic 3" x 4" treat bags (I purchased Wilson's 50 treat Bags at JoAnn Fabrics)
• large bag of Christmas M&Ms (We used 1 1/3 bags to fill 48 treat bags.)
• 1/4 cup measuring cup
• stapler

Pour 1/4 cup of M&Ms into a treat bag. (Feel free to use the "one for you, two for me" method.)

Fold the top of the bag over 1/2 inch.

Staple closed.

Attach the tag with one firm staple. Be sure to staple between all layers of bag and tag.  

And there you have it! Easy-peasy!

Our snowman buttons are all ready and waiting to be devoured by our much-loved teachers.

If you'd prefer a more "hand-made with love" route instead of M&Ms, these simple chocolate-filled pretzel treats would easily dub for snowman buttons and can be prepared by even the smallest of tots. Be sure to adjust the size of your treat bag accordingly.
